2008
Polystyrene plastic, MDF, steel, fiber optics, LEDs and Arduino micro-controller
30″ x 30″ x 18″
Exhibited at the Center for Art Tapes (CFAT) in the House of Voltage exhibition, part of the CFAT electronics residency.

This sculpture was created during an electronics residency through the Center for Art Tapes (CFAT) alongside participating artists Adriana Kuiper, Terry Piercy, Ryan Suter and Robert Zingone, with technical training provided by Adam Kelly.

Created from thousands of plastic polygons, this shape is based on the unfolded net of a computer 3D mesh sphere. Each vertex is illuminated by fiber optic wire & LEDs, and is controlled by an Arduino microcontroller.
